A dental implant is a tooth replacement solution used to restore the teeth in case of tooth loss. It is a prosthetic tooth made of titanium that looks and feels just like natural teeth. Implants are placed directly into the jawbone to provide a strong and stable foundation for the prosthetic tooth.
When you visit us for the initial consultation, we will examine your mouth thoroughly to understand your candidacy for implants. Based on this, we will suggest treatment plans that can help restore your smile back to normalcy. If implants are appropriate for you, we will schedule you for surgery.
During the surgery, the dentist inserts the implant stud into the jawbone through a small incision in the gums. The incision will be sutured after placing the implant. Several weeks may be required for the bone to heal around it completely and fuse with it securely. Once healed, a connecting abutment will be placed on top of the implant stud and a dental crown will be placed on it. We will check its fit before permanently bonding them together using dental adhesives.
